For a skip ordered and placed on private property, we can deliver immediately. Responsibility for the skip, and its location, rests with the customer.

If the skip is placed on the highway, a licence is required and the skip must be marked with lights and cones.

To obtain a licence, you must be an Approved Contractor on the appropriate County Council’s list. For this reason, the majority of our customers requiring a skip on the highway request us to obtain a licence for that skip in our name.

The standard time required to obtain a licence is:

• Somerset County Council - 7 working days
• Dorset County Council - 3 working days

and the licence is valid for up to 28 days, after which it needs to be renewed.

An administration charge for the licence is made, which we add to the price of the skip.
