YPH selected as Sainsbury’s waste contractor

J Sainsbury has recently completed the extension and upgrade of its store in Sherborne, Dorset – a project that took six months to complete and involved demolition, new build and fit-out.

YPH was selected as its waste service provider, supplying roll-on containers and a variety of skips for the segregation of the waste materials produced including wood, bricks, metals, plasterboard and general waste.  This allowed recycling on site, with correspondingly lower prices.  Any residual mixed waste was recycled at YPH’s licensed yard in Yeovil

YPH also provided regular roadsweeping to keep the site clean for shoppers using the part of the store that remained open.

Container change-overs were typically done at 7am to avoid customer disruption, six days a week.

In addition we offered a wait-and-load service, which was used principally with roll-ons towards the end of the job.   Old air-conditioning units and dumpy bags were craned from the inaccessible rear of the extended building over its roof to the lorry waiting at the front.
