YPH Waste was contacted by a local developer who had concerns over ground contamination having found some drums in undergrowth on their site. Re-development work was stopped temporarily, with the developer seeking a fast response to the problem.
YPH inspected the site initially and cleared the area to expose the drums pictured.
The drums were sampled to ascertain the liquids present as the original markings had faded away. Once the nature of the liquids were determined. the drums were either made safe or the waste was re-drummed.
All the liquid solutions were then pumped into UN approved drums for transport. These and all other identified hazardous waste items were correctly packaged, labeled and taken to the nearest authorised disposal facility.
The immediate area was tested for ground contamination, found to be clean, and re-development work at the site began again. The developer complemented us on our speed of response, efficiency and service.
