When Primark signed up to take on the old Woolworths store in the shopping centre in Yeovil, contractors moved in for what was to be a re-fit commencing in July 2010 and lasting over 4 months.
Amongst these was a demolition contractor based in Kent, two builders and a shop-fitter. All contacted and used YPH, either directly or via a broker, with the demolition contractor initially seeking a 40yd roll-on bin and 8yd skips for plasterboard and general waste.
Our knowledge of the town allowed us to advise that a 40yd would not fit in the area designated due to a height restriction, and so two 20yd roll-ons were supplied instead, one for demolition waste and the other for general waste, along with the plasterboard skip.
Bins were changed most days, with change-overs requested at 6am to minimise the disruption to the job, the neighbours and shoppers.
In addition to the bins supplied, the demolition contractor used their own 7.5 ton lorries and transits to tip in our yard.
Gareth, the boss of the demolition contractor, commented "YPH have shown considerable flexibility and speed of response, their staff are very helpful and reliable, and they provide real value for money. Ready access to their yard for our vehicles was also very helpful to the job."
